For an experienced user who has been using the same mail service for several years to see the following error message can be quite the bummer:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Btinternet (David) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.
Some of the solution that you can take up for this is to switch you port to 995. Also, turn your SSL/TLS to yes. It is unusual for every single account to show error at the same time. The fault is most likely with the general access instead of those particular set of devices or with WLM.
You should try the following link while trying to log in with yahoo;
as it has previously solved access issues.
This may also require you to go through some checkboxes to make sure that everything meets your requirements. You can also give fixing the issue yourself a try. Firstly, you should make sure that the issue is not a BT email service related temporary issue. If it is not, you should go through the settings for your email. Then, if they are alright, look through the settings of any of the firewall software or anti-virus on your computer. They should allow access to two types of files, namely;
- For Outlook Express – Msimn.exe
- For Outlook – Outlook.exe
This should resolve your issues.
